Varun Chandramouli (mridangam)
At the age of six, Varun began his musical journey under the guidance of Smt. Geetha Murali, a highly respected vocalist in Boston, laid his foundation in Carnatic vocal music (paatu). In 2003, he commenced his formal Mridangam tutelage with Shri Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan, one of New England’s most esteemed and sought-after Mridangam artists, and had the privilege of completing his arangetram in 2011. He is currently under the guidance of the renowned maestro Shri Trichur C. Narendran, a celebrated recipient of the prestigious Kalaimamani Award.
